Mortgage Market Forecasts

UK Finance produces independent forecasts for the mortgage and housing markets over a two year time horizon. Includes gross and net lending for residential and buy-to-let markets, refinancing, total property transactions and mortgage arrears and possessions.

Mortgage lending to fall in 2025

UK Finance has today published its housing and mortgage market forecasts for 2025 and 2026 together with projections for 2024 full year numbers.

Figures for 2024 are estimates based on data available at the time of publication in December. Numbers and percentage changes relating to that year may therefore differ from final outturn.
